About Margolis

The room that finds you.

Margolis is a cocktail lounge in the heart of Fishtown — craft cocktails, an evolving food and brunch menu, and a rotating lineup of DJs, live musicians, and hosts sharing the same floor, night after night.

Nights run the full spectrum: quiet happy hours easing into the week, weekend sets that run right up to our 2 AM close, and everything in between. It’s one room that changes shape depending on who’s holding it that night — which is the whole idea.

Questions

Frequently asked.

The basics for anyone attending or exploring a night at Margolis.

All questions
Visiting Margolis
Is Margolis 21+?

Yes — Margolis is 21+ every night, no exceptions. Valid government-issued photo ID required at the door.

Do I need a ticket or reservation to come in?

Most nights at Margolis run as ticketed events. There are two ways in: General Admission, bought from the person or collective hosting the night, and a Reservation, bought directly through us. Both are on every listing under Upcoming events. On the rare night that isn’t ticketed, it’s open door.

What’s the difference between General Admission and a Reservation?

General Admission is purchased from the host of the night, on their own ticket link. A Reservation is purchased directly through Margolis and includes admission, check-in through our entrance, a welcome pour of champagne for every guest, and a Digital Passport visit. Around 20 a night, and every additional guest saves $5 when booked together.

Either way, this is admission and not a table — tables, couches and seats are first come, first served unless an entire couch has been reserved separately.

What does a Reservation cost?

$20 for the first guest up until seven days before the event, $25 during the final seven days, and $30 once the event has started, subject to availability and legal venue capacity. Every additional guest in the same transaction saves $5. Sunday through Thursday is discounted at every window. The exact total for your party is shown before you pay.

How does the welcome pour of champagne work?

You’re handed a physical drink ticket at check-in, one per guest — give it to the bartender when you order. It’s half a glass rather than a full one, something nice to sip on while you take the night in. Nothing to show on your phone, nothing to redeem in advance. Priority Reservations only; a couch covers admission and seating rather than the bar.

Is there a cover charge?

Ticketed nights are priced per event — check the listing under Upcoming events. On a night that isn’t ticketed, there’s no cover.

What if I want reserved seating for my group?

Reserve a couch. $200 flat, seating up to 6 guests with event admission included, held for the whole night, refundable up to 48 hours before your date. It is the only option that guarantees seating — an ordinary Reservation does not include a table, a couch, or a section. See Reserve a Couch above.

How does the Digital Margolis Passport work?

Every eligible Reservation visit adds one stamp, one per guest per event. After five, you unlock complimentary admission for one guest to a Margolis event of your choice, booked from your own profile. Visits only count once they’re attached to a profile, so log in before you reserve — if you already booked without one, enter that reservation number afterwards and we’ll bring it across.

Can I become a member?

Yes. Margolis Member is $50 a month for five eligible nights for you; Margolis Member + One is $100 a month for unlimited eligible nights for you and a guest. Members RSVP from a separate allotment that never takes from the 20 public Reservation spots. Benefits apply to eligible public Margolis nights; private events and buyouts are excluded, and Margolis may exclude an individual night. Both plans renew monthly through Square until cancelled.

Beautiful lounge with warm vibes, good DJs & live music as well. The specialty cocktails are finely made & delicious, they definitely have a great mixologist over there. Love it. The bartenders are all really cool and down to earth too. They all put care and time into each drink. Definitely check this spot out and get your own feel.

Priority Reservations — what they cost, what they include

What it costs

Early $20 · Standard $25 · Same Night $30, for the first guest. Every additional guest saves $5 when booked together. Sunday through Thursday is discounted at every window.

Party sizeEarlyStandardSame Night
One$20$25$30

The three booking windows

  • Early runs until seven days before the event.
  • Standard runs through the final seven days.
  • Same Night begins when the event does, subject to availability and legal venue capacity.

Buying for a group

The group discount applies only when all guests are purchased in the same transaction. It cannot be applied retroactively or combined across separate transactions.

How many we hold

We keep Priority Reservations to around 20 guests a night.

The champagne welcome

Every guest checking in on a Priority Reservation is handed a drink ticket at the door, one per person. Give it to the bartender when you order and they’ll pour you a welcome pour of champagne. It is half a glass rather than a full one — something nice to sip on while you take the night in. It’s a physical ticket, so there is nothing to show on your phone and nothing to redeem in advance.

Priority Reservations only. Tickets are good on the night of your reservation, one per registered guest, and have no cash value. A Couch Reservation covers admission and seating rather than anything at the bar.

The Priority List is optional

You can add yourself to the Margolis Priority List while you book, and it is never required to purchase. It is how we tell you first, any time there is something worth hearing about early:

  • Discounted tickets and early bird pricing
  • First call on nights we expect to sell out
  • Margolis-produced events and limited-capacity experiences before they go public
  • Advance notice of select celebrity afterparties and special announcements

Not every event, artist appearance, or celebrity afterparty is announced early. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Seating

This is an admission reservation, not a table reservation. Tables, couches, and seats are first come, first served unless an entire couch has been reserved separately.

What a couch includes

What you get

It is the only option that guarantees seating. An entire couch with its own table and a few extra chairs or stools, so a full party of six has somewhere to sit — most groups that size don’t all fit on the couch cushions themselves. It is held from your arrival window through to close. Everything else in the room is first come, first served.

The reservation also covers check-in through Margolis and guest communication before the event.

Admission is included

Event admission for all 6 guests is built in, so you do not buy General Admission or a Priority Reservation on top. Guests beyond your 6 pay the regular door charge — we tally your party at check-in.

What it costs

$200 per couch on Friday and Saturday, $100 Sunday through Thursday. It is a flat fee, required for all reserved seating regardless of any bottle purchase. Book more than one couch for a party larger than six.

Margolis Members pay half. You must be logged in to your profile when you book for the member rate to apply — booking signed out is charged the full rate.

Bottle service

Couches are seating-only by default. Bottle service is an optional add-on, arranged and billed separately by Margolis, and is never required to hold a couch.

Digital Passport

A couch earns a Passport stamp like any other Margolis reservation — five stamps is a complimentary admission. The stamp goes to the person who booked; guests are tallied at the door rather than named in advance, so a couch earns one stamp, not six. Log in before you book so it lands on your profile.

Availability and changes

There are five couches a night. Each night’s own button shows its rate and how many are left, and your total is shown before you pay.

Refundable up to 48 hours before your date. A couch covers admission and seating rather than anything at the bar, so it does not carry the champagne welcome pour that comes with a Priority Reservation.

How the Digital Passport works

Connect it to a profile

Visits only count once they are on a profile. Log in before you reserve and they add up on their own. If you booked before making one, add the reservation number from your confirmation email and we’ll bring it across, as long as the name matches. Use the same email address or phone number each time so your visits connect.

One stamp per guest

One eligible stamp per guest per event. Buying for a group does not give every stamp to the purchaser — from your ticket page after you book, you can send any guest their own code, which gives them their own stamp and lets them arrive separately.

Redeeming five visits

After every five eligible visits you unlock complimentary admission to a Margolis event of your choice. Pick the night from your profile and book it yourself; it is held as an ordinary Priority Reservation, so your ticket and QR code arrive the same way.

Occasional milestones

Milestones may also include Margolis merchandise, first access to a special event, early access to Couch Reservations, and invitations to select Margolis experiences.

The small print

Rewards have no cash value and cannot be applied toward tax or gratuity. Complimentary admission covers one guest.
